Dr. Alex Meneshian was born and raised in Montreal. His professional education started at McGill University where he was awarded his DDS degree with high honors, graduating at the top of his class. Dr. Meneshian then went on to obtain his Doctor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. Dr. Meneshian then completed his combined residency in General Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He is an attending doctor at many of the prestigious hospitals in the area, including NYU Winthrop Hospital, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and Nassau University Medical Center. Dr. Meneshian is the current Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at NYU Winthrop Hospital. Dr. Meneshian is a partner at Long Island Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where they are the only oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in Nassau county that has earned an AAAASF accreditation.
Dr. Scott Fauvell started with the practice after completing his oral & maxillofacial surgery training at Nassau University Medical Center. Prior to his surgery training, Dr. Fauvell completed two years in the general practice residency at the same institution. The second year he was a full time attending in the General Practice Residency where he continued as both a practitioner and teacher in a heavily based restorative, prosthodontic, cosmetic and implant dentistry program.
Dr. Fauvell continues to practice full-scope oral & maxillofacial surgery in both the office and hospital setting. He currently is a member of multiple organizations including the American Dental Association, Nassau County Dental Society, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He maintains staff privileges at many of the local hospitals.
Dr. Brian Wolf is originally from Clinton, New Jersey. After high school in New Jersey, he graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Wolf then went on to earn his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Following the completion of his DMD, Dr. Wolf advanced his general dental knowledge and his expertise in dental rehabilitation and prosthetics through his completion of a general practice residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
Before joining Long Island Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Wolf completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Nassau University Medical Center on Long Island. During this residency program, he received advanced training in dentoalveolar surgery, maxillofacial trauma, implant and reconstructive surgery, orthognathic surgery, and anesthesia. He has publications in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as in Anesthesiology Research and Practice. Dr. Wolf currently maintains hospital privileges at NYU Winthrop University Hospital, Long Island Jewish University Hospital, and Nassau University Medical Center.
Dr. James Choi completed his undergraduate studies as a McConnell scholar at McGill University with honors in anatomy and cell biology. He went on to the University of Pennsylvania, completing his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) at the top of his class and continued his studies at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine to obtain his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.). He completed his general surgery training and oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, serving as chief resident.
His surgical training was focused on corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery, complex facial trauma/reconstruction as well as adjunctive facial procedures including Botox® and facial fillers, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, and general anesthesia.
He has been published in numerous scientific journals including the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Craniomaxillofacial Trauma & Reconstruction looking at sleep apnea, corrective jaw surgery, and jaw reconstruction. His research utilizing stem cells for bone grafting of the craniomaxillofacial region was funded by Osteo Science Foundation.
Dr. James Choi practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with particular interests in complex bone grafting and implants, corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), and management of the TMJ disorder.
