Dental Implants 101

Dental implant teeth are secured in place

Whether you are considering this life-changing procedure for either yourself or an individual you care for deeply, usually only a few short hours is all that is necessary to perform this procedure.

Very different from a removable denture, these new beautiful teeth are secured in place to dental implants. This means the teeth never move or shift when smiling, eating or talking.

A Certified TeethXpress Provider is qualified to perform this dental implant procedure for you. But don’t take our word for it. Consider the stories here of several people and learn why they chose TeethXpress to replace their failing or missing teeth, and how doing so has changed their lives!

TeethXpress make it possible to eat healthy foods without limits

Many individuals who chose the TeethXpress procedure struggled to properly chew their food. In the case of 72-year-old Peggy, she hadn’t been to the dentist in several years and her remaining teeth became rotten and painful. As a consequence, Peggy was limited by what she could eat.

The TeethXpress procedure changed her life. “Now I can’t even imagine life before my new teeth,” said Peggy. “I can eat everything I want. There are absolutely no limitations.”

Peggy could have chosen dentures, but dentures are far less effective when chewing compared to dental implants. In fact, a 2011 study found denture wearers to be at a much higher risk of malnutrition than individuals with teeth.[1]

After receiving dental implants, Peggy now enjoys a more nutritious diet since she is no longer limited by what she can eat. She also enjoys showing off her beautiful TeethXpress smile.

Dental implant can helps to preserve jawbone and prevent premature aging

In Cara’s case, at the young age of 35, her rotting teeth confined her to a soft diet that was largely limited to bananas, mashed potatoes, baked sweet potatoes and over-steamed vegetables. As a health-conscious

pilates instructor, Cara understood how such a limited diet could negatively affect her overall physical health.

Her life was marred by trouble with digestion and near-daily fibromyalgia flares. She knew she needed a solution that would allow her to chew a wide variety of healthy foods.

Because both of her parents started wearing dentures before the age of 40, Cara was well aware of several disadvantages of wearing dentures, including restrictions on what you can eat as well as jawbone loss over time. Suffering bone loss in the jaw can cause facial wrinkles and pre-mature aging.

Cara ultimately chose to replace her upper and lower teeth with dental implants. Since receiving TeethXpress, her health has drastically improved.

“I had an autoimmune condition that is almost completely gone,” Cara said. “I’m so happy and more healthy now that I can eat whatever I want.” A connection between dental health and systemic (whole-body) health has long been recognized, and Cara is a living example of how TeethXpress can help.

TeethXpress can be comfortably performed in a few short hours, pain-free

TeethXpress providers perform this procedure routinely and most often it can be done in as little as one day. TeethXpress patients often enter the dentist office by 8:00am and are able to walk out, with a beautiful set of new teeth, three hours later. Most people find TeethXpress procedures easy to tolerate.

Frequently, TeethXpress providers will offer IV sedation or general anesthesia to make the TeethXpress procedure comfortable. This allows the patient to completely relax or sleep throughout the entire procedure.

Like Peggy, Carly suffered from several missing teeth and dental pain as well. At age 39, Carly couldn’t see herself having to take her dentures out at night, so she opted for dental implants.

General anesthesia was used so Carly could sleep through the procedure. She had five dental implants placed in her upper jaw.

“It was so easy … the whole process was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be,” Carly said.

Carly’s implant procedure was completed within a short, three-hour period. She liked it so much, she later decided to have the same procedure performed on her lower teeth as well.

Individuals who choose the TeethXpress procedure, like Carly, are usually missing some or all of their teeth and desire a fast solution to improve their smiles and to regain their ability to enjoy a large variety of foods. “When I saw my new teeth for the first time, I couldn’t stop smiling. I was so happy — I almost started crying,” she said.

TeethXpress can boost confidence needed for a flourishing career

Millie, TeethXpress dental implant patient

The effect a set of great looking teeth and a beautiful smile can have on a person’s self-confidence in the workplace is immeasurable. A glowing smile has been proven to be a worthwhile investment.

Cigna®, a dental insurance company, commissioned a study in 2019 to uncover the connection between oral health and confidence. The study discovered that 93 percent of individuals who rate their self-confidence as excellent were also completely satisfied with their smile.[1] To the contrary, of those who were disappointed with their smile, only 30 percent rated their self-confidence as excellent.

It has long been determined that high self-confidence in the workplace is a key component to effective communications and performing a job well. In many cases, an individual’s career requires them to be in the public eye.

In the case of Millie, a 75-year-old amazing Delta blues singer, a healthy set of teeth is everything to her singing career, but gum disease led to the loss of several teeth. This had a negative effect on Millie’s self-confidence and her ability to perform in front of live audiences.

“I was beginning to feel like ‘I’m getting old,” is how Millie put it. She knew she had to do something about it before things got out of hand. She would wear her hair down to help cover up her smile.

After hearing so many bad things about wearing dentures, including the fact that they can “fall out,” Millie felt like dentures may negatively affect her singing. Like many career folks, including doctors, lawyers, contractors, small business owners, corporate employees, plumbers, musicians and others, Millie decided on dental implants.

Following her TeethXpress procedure, she said she immediately felt 20 years younger and her friends and family say, “…Millie’s got her smile back.”

Several ways to pay for the TeethXpress procedure

At first, many people interested in the TeethXpress procedure are concerned with not having dental insurance. If this is your concern, don’t give us on your desire to have dental implants so easily.

Dental insurance is most effective when it’s used for preventive and basic procedures like cleanings and fillings which are usually covered at between 80 and 100 percent. It is true that dental insurance can help reduce the cost of a dental implant procedure.

But because dental insurance is usually limited to an annual maximum of approximately $1,500, most people seek out other options to make this procedure affordable.

Fortunately, patients have several ways to make the TeethXpress dental implant procedure affordable. Marc, 71, has enjoyed the benefits of TeethXpress for years. “I would say that it’s well worth spending the money to have it done,” said Marc.

Some of the more common methods used to pay for the TeethXpress procedure include the use of a Healthcare Installment Plan, a home equity line of credit and borrowing from a retirement plan, such as a 401(k) or 403(b) savings account.

For complete details on these and other payment options, visit our Cost of Dental Implants section. Before Leigh received dental implants, she didn’t think she could afford them. And until her TeethXpress office informed her of the Healthcare Installment Plan option as a way to establish a payment plan, Leigh thought “It was unreachable financially,” she said.

In the end, Leigh was able to work out a feasible payment plan. Now Leigh says of her TeethXpress procedure, “Before, I used to never smile with my mouth open. Now I gleam nice and big.”

If you’re considering this procedure, remember that a healthy set of teeth — that you can smile and eat with — is a worthwhile investment. Once the immeasurable advantage of being able to smile and eat whatever you want is established, a Certified TeethXpress Provider’s staff can help you to find a way to make dental implants affordable!
