Dr. Thomas Gibbs

Dr. Thomas Gibbs attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois for his undergraduate studies and graduated from the University of Illinois School of Dentistry. He holds memberships in the following: American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and American Academy of Facial Esthetics.

Dr. Gibbs has over 25 years of experience in cosmetic, family sedation, and implant dentistry. He is one of the earliest members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (since 1998) and has had training at some of the most prestigious training institutes such as the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Education, California Implant Institute, Misch International Implant Institute, and the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI).

Dr. Gibbs has earned certification with Invisalign “invisible braces,” Lumineer porcelain veneers, and Six Month Smiles short-term braces. These systems offer advanced cosmetic and convenient orthodontic solutions for patients.

Dr. Gibbs has also earned honorary fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI). The fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry was earned after completing over 500 hours of high level certified continuing education and a rigorous written test. Dr. Gibbs’ fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists was earned after completing coursework at the California Implant Institute, Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Education (LVI), and both the Prosthodontics and Surgical series of studies at the renowned Misch International Implant Institute. He has published numerous articles, primarily in the areas of cosmetic dentistry, dental sedation, and dental implants.

In 2007, Dr. Gibbs achieved another honorary designation by receiving his certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Along with substantial advanced education and case submission for peer-reviewed journals, this has earned him an additional fellowship in the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (FDOCS). He is one of the very few dental professionals trained in dental anesthesiology and is trained to treat phobic patients and patients with disabilities. Fewer than 2% of dentists in Illinois are certified to provide advanced dental sedation for phobic, medically compromised, and handicapped patients.

Dr. Gibbs has been recognized for providing dentistry to inner-city families and his work with leadership/vocational training through the Glenbard School District. He and his wife, Cathy, have been active organizers in the National Children’s Cancer Society helping families cope with the concerns of children with cancer. Recently, he has been active with the Give Back a Smile (GBAS) program in conjunction with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. The GBAS program seeks to restore the smile and dental health of victims of domestic violence who would be unable to pay for these life-restoring services on their own.

Dr. Gibbs also serves as a mentor in the American Academy of Facial Esthetics where he trains fellow dentists in the use of Cosmetic Botox, therapeutic Botox (for temporomandibular joint TMJ pain), and dermal fillers to enhance their abilities in cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Jessica Gibbs

Dr. Jessica Gibbs graduated from the University of Illinois and went on to earn her dental degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. As part of her effort to keep abreast of the leading-edge technology, she is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Illinois Dental Association, American Academy of Sleep Dentistry and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. She has also earned a fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
