Dr. David Thurber

Dr. David Thurber obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Texas dental branch in Houston, Texas where he graduated top of his class. Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Thurber was accepted into an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at Allegheny General Hospital.

Dr. Thurber practices full scope oral surgery. He is passionate about his profession and providing excellent care to his community and abroad. Dr. Thurber maintains staff privileges at St Joseph’s Hospital where he donates his free time and services to the doctor residents and hospital patients. In addition to his dedication and commitment to serving his community, Dr. Thurber established a non-profit organization named “Service to Mankind.” Through his non-profit he works to educate medical residents and performs free oral and maxillofacial surgeries, including dentofacial deformities, pediatric cleft lips and palates, and facial trauma to the under-served regions of Honduras, Central America. Dr. Thurber is fluent in Spanish and travels regularly to Honduras for his commitment to serving those less fortunate.

Dr. Thurber is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (NYSSOMS) and the Fifth District Society of New York.

Dr. Thurber and his family are happy to call Central New York home. Outside of the office he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters traveling, hiking and enjoying the nature of CNY.
