Dr. Donald Flihan

Dr. Flihan is a native of Utica and a graduate of Notre Dame High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Rochester, received his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and his MD from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. Dr. Flihan completed a formal accredited six-year hospital-based residency training program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Buffalo. Following his education and training, Dr. Flihan elected to return to his hometown of Utica and began his practice there in 2003. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He maintains hospital privileges at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica, as well as St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. Dr. Flihan is a member of numerous local, state and national dental, medical and oral and maxillofacial surgery societies and organizations. Through many annual hours of continuing education attendance, Dr. Flihan continuously strives to stay at the forefront of the latest advancements in his specialty, facilitating his ability to provide the most appropriate, quality care to his patients.
