Dr. John Tozer

An Orono native and son of a dentist, Dr. John Tozer has served patients in the greater Bangor community for more than thirty years. Dr. Tozer is a graduate of the Florida Institute of Technology and the University of Maine, and he received his doctorate from Tufts University. He has completed many advanced education courses in a number of dental specialty areas including dental implantology, head and neck pain, occlusion, laser gum disease treatments, cosmetic dentistry, CEREC ceramic crowns and oral conscious sedation.

Patient comfort and a sense of trust are of utmost priority to Dr. Tozer. His practice uses the latest dental technology and is staffed by many long-term employees who have created a warm and caring atmosphere. Dr. Tozer’s extensive knowledge and experience, along with his comforting chair-side manner, ensure that you will receive the best dental treatment possible.

Dr. Tozer is a Certified TeethXpress Provider as well as a member of the American Dental Association, Dentists of Conscious Sedation, Academy of General Dentistry, Maine Dental Association and Penobscot Valley Dental Society, and he is certified by Invisalign™ and CEREC. He is an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, has received a LANAP Certificate from the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry, has completed a mini residency in Head, Neck and Facial Pain from the University of Florida, Gainesville, and has completed courses at Dawson Academy in Florida on Functional Occlusion from TMJ to smile design.

When not creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Tozer enjoys time with his wife, Laura, and three children, Caroline, Sarah and Matt. He’s a licensed pilot and enjoys flying, a good Pat’s Pizza and continuing to educate himself on the latest dental technology and treatments.
