Dr. Kian Djawdan
Dr. Kian Djawdan is a dentist in Annapolis, Maryland dedicated helping adult patients with complex dental problems. His areas of focus are dental implants, sedation dentistry and advanced restorative dental procedures.
Dr. Djawdan completed his graduate program at Tufts University in Boston, MA. After receiving his DMD degree in 1992, he completed a two year residency at the VA Hospital and Medical College of Virginia. His residency program focused on IV sedation, surgical placement and restoration of dental implants. Dr. Djawdan held the prestigious position of Chief Resident during his second year.
Dr. Djawdan is joined in his office by his wife Renee, who is also the Practice Coordinator. The couple reside in Annapolis with their daughter, Shelby and two dogs, Rhody and Gabby. Dr. Djawdan enjoys spending time with his family, as well as skiing, flying, and scuba diving.
- DABOI – Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology / Implant Dentistry
Dr. Djawdan’s ABOI/ID Diplomate designation symbolizes the highest level of competence in implant dentistry. Certification by the ABOI/ID attests to the fact that a dentist has demonstrated knowledge, ability, and proficiency in implant dentistry through a rigorous examination process. This process includes submitting documented cases using dental implants in a variety of situations as well as a written and oral examination.
- DICOI – Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI)
This designation symbolizes Dr. Djawdan’s thorough knowledge and skill in implant dentistry. Certification is available to dentists who place or restore implants. Diplomate requirements include submission of 60 completed implant cases, 150 hours of continuing education, oral interviews and written examination.
- MAGD – Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry
Mastership is one of the few post-graduate designations available to general dentists. It requires the dentist to complete over 1,100 hours of continuing education in various disciplines. There are fewer than 2,300 active AGD Masters throughout the United States and Canada.
- MIPS – Implant Prostheses Mastership of the ICOI
IPS recognizes dentists who have accepted their professional responsibility and challenged themselves in the field of implant prosthodontics by developing skills, knowledge and experience to properly create treatment plans, design, fabricate and deliver implant supported prostheses. The rigorous credentialing process requires case submissions, continuing education hours, oral and written examination.
- IV Sedation Certification – USC
Dr. Djawdan is licensed in the state of Maryland to offer IV sedation in his Annapolis dental office. He underwent training at USC to learn proper technique and safe delivery of anesthesia.

Dr. Djawdan is a faculty member for Advanced Dental Education Seminars, teaching Excellence in Aesthetics and Implant Dentistry to his professional colleagues. In addition, Dr. Djawdan is an active member of several provessional state national and international organizations.
